How to use our casting resin in four steps

Prepare your materials

The first key step is properly treating the surfaces of the objects you want to cast—porous, delicate, or dust-prone surfaces must be prepared carefully. Proper preparation ensures the perfect look and durability of your final piece. Use Recepox Crystal 100, which also serves as the casting resin itself. One product is all you need for a complete application.

Create your mold

Place your objects into a prepared mold and measure the resin layer thickness. If your mold exceeds the recommended layer height, multiple pours may be required. For easy demolding, use suitable mold release agents.

Pouring

Mix the resin according to the technical data sheet. You can color it with metallic pigments for added flair. Avoid air bubbles by carefully pouring and, for best results, use a pressure or vacuum chamber. For large pieces, finishing the surface with warm air is recommended.

Curing

Once cured, demold your piece and finish it with cutting, sanding, or polishing. Despite the extremely long processing time (over 5 hours), the resin offers additional significant advantages when casting in greater thicknesses (from 4 cm upwards). In these cases, the casting can be demoulded earlier, which makes it possible to move the “semi-finished product” to another place to cure before its final finishing (sanding, polishing, etc.). This means the applicator does not have to wait 7 days for full curing at the workstation, but can free up the workspace shortly after demoulding and continue with further production.

To increase the durability of the casting, it is recommended to apply a surface treatment to the product.
